The 82-kilometer race has reached its participant limit, becoming the third distance to sell out
The Advanced race of The North Face Transgrancanaria 2026 has officially reached its participant capacity, joining the Marathon and Promo distances, which had previously sold out. With this new confirmation, three race categories for the 2026 edition of one of the most prestigious international mountain races are now full.
The Advanced race, which will start from Teror on Saturday, March 7 at 9:00 a.m., features a challenging 82-kilometer course with a positive elevation gain of 4,314 meters, culminating in Parque Sur in Maspalomas. This year, the route returns to the iconic Roque Nublo, offering participants the best way to see why Gran Canaria is considered a “miniature continent.” The course is divided into a first half marked by the lush greenery of the island’s interior and a second half where the landscape becomes drier and more rugged.
This race has become one of the most attractive options for runners looking for a demanding yet accessible challenge within the wide range of distances offered by The North Face Transgrancanaria.
Three Race Categories Sold Out
The closure of bibs for three categories reflects the growing international interest in this event. The race already has over 5,000 runners from 68 different nationalities, confirming its status as one of the most cosmopolitan trail running events in the world.
The remaining categories also have a high level of occupation. The Classic race is practically full with 98% of bibs occupied, while the Half race is not far behind with 97% of confirmed registrations. The KV El Gigante has a 94% occupancy, and the Short and Family races have 70% of participants registered.
Registration Is Still Open
Those interested in participating in one of the still-available categories can register through the official website, www.transgrancanaria.net. The three sold-out categories (Marathon, Promo, and Advanced) have an enabled waiting list to cover any vacancies that may arise before the event.
The North Face Transgrancanaria 2026 will be held from March 4 to 8, once again establishing itself as an essential event on the international trail running calendar in the first quarter of the year.
