Participants can now take advantage of reduced prices across all race categories during the first 48 hours
Canary Islands residents will, as usual, benefit from an additional discount on registration fees
The organization has decided to maintain last year’s participant capacity—and even reduce it in some categories—in line with its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection
The North Face Transgrancanaria opened registration this Wednesday for its 28th edition, which will take place from February 22 to 28, 2027, via the official website www.transgrancanaria.net. Participants can now register at reduced prices across all race categories during the first 48 hours. In addition, Canary Islands residents will benefit from their usual extra discount, offered by an event that is more committed than ever to sustainability in this edition.
The registration process will be divided into three phases. The first phase covers the initial 48 hours from opening (Wednesday, July 1 at 12:00 Canary Islands time), featuring a special promotion with significant discounts across all races. From July 3 at 12:00, a second registration window with reduced rates will open and remain available until September 15. After that, standard rates will apply until registration closes.
As in previous editions, participants residing in the Canary Islands will receive an additional discount, with the aim of promoting trail running among the local population.

A New Era: “Naturally Sustainable”
The 28th edition of The North Face Transgrancanaria will once again bring together thousands of runners from around the world, further strengthening its commitment to preserving Gran Canaria’s natural environment. From the opening of registration—where the organization has chosen to maintain participant numbers and even reduce them in certain race categories to minimize impact—the event will significantly increase its efforts to reduce its environmental footprint.
Optimizing mobility, improving energy efficiency, promoting best practices among participants, suppliers, and spectators, and registering with the Canary Islands Carbon Footprint Registry are just some of the many measures that will be implemented in what aims to be the most sustainable edition in the event’s history.

More Trail in an Expanded Event
All of this comes in a year when the event expands its schedule, starting one day earlier, on Tuesday, February 23, with the new Open Agáldar race. This will be followed by the Kilómetro Vertical El Gigante on Wednesday, February 24, and the Half and Promo races on Thursday, February 25.
Friday, February 26 will be one of the most anticipated days, featuring the start of two flagship races: the Marathon in the morning and, at midnight, the iconic Classic race, part of the international World Trail Majors circuit, starting from Las Canteras Beach. On Saturday, February 27, the Advanced, Short, and Family races will start early in the morning, completing the main program of the event.
The North Face Transgrancanaria is organized by Arista Eventos with the support of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, through Turismo de Gran Canaria and the Insular Sports Institute; Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council, through its Municipal Sports Institute; the municipalities of Gáldar, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Teror, Santa Lucía de Tirajana, and Tejeda. The event is also supported by The North Face, Hospitales Universitarios San Roque, Lopesan Hotel Group, ExpoMeloneras, 226ERS, Fred. Olsen Express, Sonocom Audiovisuales, and Aguas de Teror.
