Runners completing the Classic, Advanced, Marathon and Stages distances will receive an iconic The North Face product as a reward for taking on the challenge
Crossing the finish line at The North Face Transgrancanaria is one of those moments that stays with every runner forever. In 2027, those completing selected distances will also be able to take home a very special memento of their challenge in Gran Canaria.
Participants in the Classic, Advanced, Marathon and Stages races will receive a Base Camp Duffel from The North Face, one of the brand’s most iconic products and a versatile companion designed to accompany athletes wherever they go.
The gift will be the Base Camp Duffel in XS size, with a capacity of 31 litres, a versatile format that can be used for travelling, going to the gym, work or any new adventure that comes after the race.
Base Camp Duffel bags have been part of The North Face history for four decades. First introduced in 1986, they were designed for adventure and are made from highly durable and resistant materials, built to accompany their owners for many years and many kilometres.
An edition with an expanded schedule
The North Face Transgrancanaria 2027 will once again turn Gran Canaria into one of the leading stages for international trail running, with an expanded programme that will start one day earlier than usual, on Tuesday, 23 February, with the debut of the Open Agáldar, a new race that will bring the event to the north of the island.
The programme will continue on Wednesday, 24 February with the Kilómetro Vertical El Gigante, followed on Thursday 25 February by the Half and Promo races. Friday, 26 February will see one of the key moments of the event, with the start of the Marathon in the morning and the Classic at midnight. Both races will once again be part of the international World Trail Majors circuit.
On Saturday 27 February, the Advanced, Short and Family races will start first thing in the morning from the municipality of Teror, completing the main competitive programme of The North Face Transgrancanaria 2027.
A more sustainable Transgrancanaria
The 2027 edition will also strengthen the organisation’s commitment to sustainability and environmental protection. The event will maintain the number of available places and, in some races, even reduce them in order to move towards an increasingly responsible model that respects the territory.
Mobility optimisation, energy efficiency, the promotion of good practices among participants, suppliers and the public, and registration in the Canary Islands Carbon Footprint Register will be among the measures implemented as part of the most sustainable edition in The North Face Transgrancanaria’s history.
Registrations remain open through the official race website, with the second pricing period running until 15 September. The Marathon, Promo and Open Agáldar races have already sold out and currently have a waiting list available.
The North Face Transgrancanaria is organised by Arista Eventos and supported by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, through Turismo de Gran Canaria and the Instituto Insular de Deportes; Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council, through the Instituto Municipal de Deportes; Gáldar City Council; San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council; Teror City Council; Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council and Tejeda City Council.
