The Joma runner was already the winner of the race in 2010 and runner-up in the last edition

The race, which will be held from February 19 to 23, has more than 5,300 participants

Miguel Heras (Béjar, 1975) returns to The North Face Transgrancanaria. The runner from Salamanca returns to participate in the Classic race that he already won in 2010 and where last year he finished a little more than ten minutes behind the winner. The 2025 edition will be 126 kilometers long with 6,866 meters of positive elevation and will once again be part of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors international circuit.

The Joma runner is a legend of mountain races and currently has an ITRA ranking of 903, demonstrating that he continues to compete among the best athletes in the specialty.

In his long career he has achieved victories in several of the most important national and international races, such as his winning poker in the Salomon Ultra Pirineu (2010, 2011, 2016 and 2022) and K42 Canarias Anaga Marathon (2015, 2021, 2022 and 2023) or his first places in The North Face Endurance Challenge California (2010); Transvulcania (2011); Festival des Templiers (2016) and Valhöll Argentina by UTMB (2023). Also noteworthy are his podiums in Zegama-Aizkorri (3rd in 2010 and 2011) and HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc (2nd in 2013).

In 2024 he won the Domusa Teknik in May and finished the year with an excellent triumph in the 3 Days Ultra Trail Ibiza.

The Bejarano has confirmed his presence in The North Face Transgrancanaria 2025, which this year has broken the record of registered runners with more than 5,300 from 70 countries and has confirmed other elite runners such as Jonathan Albon; Yngvild Kaspersen; Tom Evans; Zach Miller or Judith Wyder who, like Miguel Heras, will try to leave their name engraved forever in this 26th edition of one of the most important races in the world.

The North Face Transgrancanaria is a race organized by Arista Eventos that is sponsored by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria institutions, through Turismo de Gran Canaria and the Insular Sports Institute; the Government of the Canary Islands with the Canary Islands Latitude of Life; Maspalomas Costa Canaria; the Municipal Sports Institute of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; the Teror City Council and the Tejeda City Council. In addition, it has the support of private companies as The North Face, San Roque University Hospitals, and Fred.
