The race launches a 48-hour flash offer with reduced prices across all categories and an additional discount for runners resident in the Canary Islands
The 28th edition of The North Face Transgrancanaria will begin to take shape on Wednesday, 1 July, from 12:00 h, when the registration process will open for the event to be held from 22 to 28 February 2027. The organisation will launch a first promotional period of 48 hours with special rates in all categories, a formula already established in previous editions and highly anticipated by national and international runners.
Following this first window, valid until Friday, 3 July at 12:00 h, a second pricing period will open from 4 July until 15 September, before the final period, which will remain active until registrations close. Runners resident in the Canary Islands will again benefit from an additional discount, a measure designed to continue encouraging the practice of trail running among the local population.
During this initial period, a runner resident in the Canary Islands can register for Classic at €150, Advanced at €120, Marathon at €80, Half at €50, Promo and Kilometre Vertical at €35, Short at €25, and Family at €25 (€15 for under-age participants). The Promo and Short categories will again be open to youth categories, in line with the event’s commitment to facilitate access to trail running from an early age.

International projection
The North Face Transgrancanaria will reach 2027 after a 2026 edition with historic figures, in which the event brought together more than 6,000 athletes from 75 countries and consolidated its global dimension with 44% international participation. The race also recorded a record for female participation and strengthened its media presence with more than 100 accredited journalists and an international streaming broadcast that exceeded 300,000 views.
The big week of 2027 will begin on the afternoon of Monday, 22 February, when Gran Canaria will once again be at the centre of the world trail running scene. A new race will be added to this programme, to be announced in the coming days, which will expand an already consolidated offer, currently structured around eight races, from KV El Gigante to the Classic, the event’s flagship distance.
In sporting terms, the Classic will again be part of the international World Trail Majors circuit, while the Marathon, one of the categories with the greatest growth and appeal, will remain linked to the Short Series by World Trail Majors. The organisation will also maintain youth categories, as well as the Family and Kids tests, designed to bring trail running closer to younger participants and families.

Statements
Aridany Romero, Canary Islands Council of Gran Canaria’s Sports Counsellor, highlighted the symbolic value of this announcement as the starting point for the next edition:
“The opening of registrations for the 28th edition of The North Face Transgrancanaria marks the real starting gun for a new edition of a race that generates enormous interest every year both within and outside our territory. There are many male and female athletes from outside this territory waiting for this call, expecting, as always, a mass registration across the different disciplines of The North Face Transgrancanaria”.
Romero also emphasised the Council’s support for the race and the organisational work carried out on the island:
“The Canary Islands Council of Gran Canaria, as it could not be otherwise, continues to be the main institutional support to ensure that this great trail running celebration continues to grow on the island. It is also fair to recognise the effort and dedication of the entire Arista Eventos team, which has turned this race into an international reference and, possibly, the best trail race in the world”.

González also highlighted the link between the race and the territory:
“We want to convey with greater force than ever that the Transgrancanaria is part of the identity of this island and of the archipelago. Our goal is that those who visit us to participate will leave with their hearts full of experiences, with the feeling of having discovered a special place through sport”.
