City Sightseeing and Transgrancanaria renew their collaboration to give visibility to the 27th edition in the Spanish capital
The image of The North Face Transgrancanaria is once again touring the streets of Madrid on one of the buses of the company City Sightseeing, the leading operator of panoramic tourist buses. This renewed collaboration between both companies consolidates a strategic alliance that began two years ago and returns in 2025 with an updated image. This new image highlights the route through Roque Nublo, reflecting the evolution of one of the most prestigious trail running races in the world.
Throughout the month of October, one of City Sightseeing’s characteristic double-decker panoramic buses features the image of The North Face Transgrancanaria vinyl-wrapped on its rear, travelling through the capital’s most emblematic spots such as the Puerta de Alcalá, Plaza de Cibeles, and Gran Vía, among others.
Thanks to this collaboration agreement, the race’s image is displayed daily in the heart of the capital, reaching hundreds of thousands of Madrid residents and the large influx of international tourists who visit one of the world’s most important cities, projecting both the race’s image and that of Gran Canaria as a first-rate tourist destination.
The 27th edition of the race, which will be held from March 4 to 8, 2026, in Gran Canaria, has sold out registrations for all its main modalities, surpassing 5,000 participants from 68 different nationalities. The event will consolidate the Canary Islands’ presence in the exclusive World Trail Majors circuit and will feature important novelties such as the return of the route through Roque Nublo in the Classic and Advanced modalities.
Madrid, Third Province with the Most Participants
The link between the Spanish capital and Transgrancanaria is reflected in the participation figures: More than a hundred Madrid athletes will compete in one of the race modalities, representing 3% of the total registrants. Madrid is thus positioned as the third province in number of participants, only behind the two Canary Islands provinces, consolidating its position compared to previous editions.
The marketing director of The North Face Transgrancanaria, Wendy Cruz, has positively evaluated the renewal of the agreement: “The continuity of our collaboration with City Sightseeing demonstrates the success of this promotional action. Seeing the Transgrancanaria bus touring Madrid with a renewed image not only gives visibility to our race but also projects Gran Canaria as a unique destination for sports and nature lovers. This strategic alliance has become a key tool to connect with the Madrid public, who year after year show greater interest in being part of our family.”
For his part, Isaac Flores, general director of City Sightseeing Spain, added: “We are delighted to carry on board one of the most iconic races in the world of trail running, especially because it is an incentive to get to know a destination as wonderful as the island of Gran Canaria. The Transgrancanaria is both a sporting challenge and a gift for the senses, which is why we hope to awaken the attention of all residents and visitors of Madrid so that they set their sights on the island.”
