The trail running race, which will exceed 6,000 participants in this edition, will offer four days of live programming via its official YouTube channel
Coverage begins Wednesday with the Vertical race from El Valle de Agaete, followed by the Half on Thursday, featuring a new route between Santa Lucía de Tirajana and Tejeda
The event maintains its broadcasts of the Marathon on Friday and the Classic, covering the Friday night start and the second half of the race on Saturday
The North Face Transgrancanaria is boosting its streaming coverage this year. As the world’s most important winter trail race, hosting over 6,000 runners from across the globe, the upcoming edition will premiere live broadcasts of the El Gigante Vertical Kilometer and the Half. This marks an unprecedented milestone for the sport, providing four days of television coverage.
The broadcast, available on the official The North Face Transgrancanaria YouTube channel, will once again feature commentators Albert Jorquera and Dani Sanabria. The production team consists of over twenty professionals, including camera operators, runners, cyclists, reporters, and technicians.
With this move, Arista Eventos continues to produce world-class live trail running broadcasts. This step consolidates a strategy developed in recent years, following the success of the 360º The Challenge Gran Canaria—which featured over 10 hours of in-house production last November—and the coverage of the Artenara Trail.
Broadcast Schedule:
-
Wednesday, March 4: The streaming kicks off with the El Gigante Vertical Kilometer, a demanding 5.5 km race with 1,090 meters of positive elevation gain, starting in El Valle de Agaete and finishing at the Tamadaba Recreational Area.
-
Thursday, March 5: Coverage continues with the Half, debuting a new course from Santa Lucía de Tirajana to Tejeda. The route passes through iconic landscapes like the Camino de La Plata and the Caldera de Tejeda.
-
Friday, March 6: It is the turn of the Marathon, part of the World Trail Majors international circuit (Short Races category). At 9:00 AM, runners will depart from Tejeda toward El Garañón before the fast descent to the finish line at Parque Sur, Maspalomas.
-
Friday Night / Saturday, March 7: The North Face Transgrancanaria will broadcast the iconic start of the flagship race: the Classic. Live coverage begins at 11:30 PM from Las Canteras Beach for the start of the 126 km ultra. On Saturday morning, the broadcast resumes for the second half of the race between Artenara and Parque Sur.
In total, there will be more than 20 hours of broadcasting available on the official Transgrancanaria YouTube channel.
The North Face Transgrancanaria is organized by Arista Eventos and is sponsored by the following institutions: the Cabildo de Gran Canaria (through Tourism of Gran Canaria and the Insular Sports Institute); the Government of the Canary Islands with “Canary Islands, One Place, Seven Worlds” (Latitud de Vida); the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria through the Municipal Sports Institute; and the City Councils of Teror and Tejeda. Additionally, the event is supported by The North Face, Hospitales Universitarios San Roque, Lopesan Hotel Group, ExpoMeloneras, 226ERS, Fred. Olsen Express, Sonocom Audiovisuales, and Aguas de Teror.
