The event’s most popular race, scheduled for Friday, February 26, with a start in Tejeda and a finish at Parque Sur, has opened a waiting list to cover any withdrawals
The event has already surpassed 4,500 registered participants, once again demonstrating the enormous appeal of the race

The Marathon distance of The North Face Transgrancanaria has once again proven why it is the event’s most popular race after reaching 100% of its entries this Wednesday. Following the sell-outs of the Promo and Open Agáldar races, the 47 km event has also officially sold out for the 2027 edition, which has already exceeded 4,500 registrations.

Year after year, the Marathon course has established itself as one of the most popular routes in the event. It is undoubtedly the perfect prelude to the flagship Classic race, as it will start, as usual, on Friday, February 26 at 9:30 a.m. from Tejeda, just hours before the spectacular nighttime start of the Classic.

Among the 2,000 runners set to start from Tejeda -a figure established by the organization to guarantee the quality of the race experience- world-class athletes will once again take center stage. The event has welcomed winners in recent years such as Ikram Rharsalla, Antonio Martínez, Jennifer Lichter, Francesco Puppi, Nuria Gil and Robert Pkemoi, among others. They will all compete for valuable points in the Short Series by World Trail Majors, the global trail running circuit connecting five continents.

Reaching the finish line at Parque Sur in Maspalomas will once again be the challenge awaiting athletes willing to push their limits across 47 kilometers and 1,784 meters of elevation gain. Before achieving glory, however, runners must first reach the highest point on the island before flying down the technical descents of the Camino de La Plata and tackling the climbs of Tunte and Ayagaures.

The excellent pace of registrations has already pushed The North Face Transgrancanaria beyond 4,500 participants, who will explore the trails of Gran Canaria from February 22 to 28 in an edition featuring a total of eight race categories. Among the main new features is Stages, a four-stage competition comprising the Open Agáldar, KV El Gigante, Promo and Advanced races.

Waiting List

As was the case with the Promo and Open Agáldar races, the organization has opened a waiting list, allowing interested runners the opportunity to secure a bib number should any registered participants withdraw.

The North Face Transgrancanaria is organized by Arista Eventos and is sponsored by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through Turismo de Gran Canaria and the Instituto Insular de Deportes; the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria through the Instituto Municipal de Deportes; the municipalities of Gáldar, Villa de San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Teror, Santa Lucía de Tirajana and Tejeda. The event is also supported by The North Face, Hospitales Universitarios San Roque, Lopesan Hotel Group, ExpoMeloneras, 226ERS, Fred. Olsen Express, Sonocom Audiovisuales and Aguas de Teror.
