Participants Will Have 48 Hours to Enjoy Special Discounts Across All Eight Race Categories
Canary Islands Residents Will Also Benefit from an Additional Registration Discount
The 27th edition of The North Face Transgrancanaria, set to take place from March 4 to 8, 2026, will open registration next Wednesday, July 2, at 12:00 p.m. (local time). One of the most prestigious races on the international trail running calendar, the event will kick off with a 48-hour flash period offering significant discounts on entry fees for all race categories. Registration will be available via the event’s official website: www.transgrancanaria.net.
Registration fees will be divided into three phases. The first phase, during the initial 48 hours, will feature special promotional prices across all races. Starting July 4 at 12:00 p.m., a second registration window with reduced rates will open and run through September 30. After that, standard fees will apply until the final registration deadline.
In addition, residents of the Canary Islands will receive an extra discount aimed at promoting trail running among the local population. For example, during the 48-hour flash sale, Canary Island runners can sign up for the Classic for €140; the Advanced for €110; the Marathon for €70; the Half for €45; the Promo and Vertical Kilometer for €30; the Family for €25 (with minors paying just €10); and the newly rebranded Short (formerly known as Youth) for €20. Both the Promo and Short races will be open to youth and development categories.
Gran Canaria: Global Trail Running Hub
The 27th edition of The North Face Transgrancanaria will once again bring together thousands of runners from around the globe, with Gran Canaria becoming the epicenter of the trail running world. The event kicks off on Wednesday, March 4 with the El Gigante Vertical Kilometer in the Agaete Valley. On Thursday, March 5, the Half and Promo races will take place. Friday, March 6 will be one of the most anticipated days, beginning with the Marathon in the morning, followed by the Classic, the event’s flagship race, which starts at midnight from Las Canteras Beach in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This race is part of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors international circuit.
On Saturday, March 7, the Advanced, Short, and Family races will start in the early hours, completing the main lineup of events.
New Course Routes and Start Points
In the coming days, organizers will announce new course layouts and start locations for several categories, reflecting a continued commitment to keeping the race fresh and exciting. Youth and development categories will be maintained in various races, alongside the Family and Kids events, which aim to introduce children and families to the world of trail running.
The countdown to The North Face Transgrancanaria 2026 has officially begun. July 2 at 12:00 p.m. marks the start of a new opportunity to take part in this unique adventure across the island of Gran Canaria.
The North Face Transgrancanaria is organized by Arista Eventos with the support of public institutions such as the Cabildo of Gran Canaria (through Gran Canaria Tourism and the Insular Sports Institute), the Government of the Canary Islands (under the “Canary Islands: Latitude of Life” campaign), Maspalomas Costa Canaria, the Municipal Sports Institute of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and the Tejeda City Council.
