The race program will follow the format of previous editions, with events taking place throughout the week
Classic and Advanced return to Roque Nublo, while the Half moves its starting point to the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana
The revamped 5-kilometer Short will take place in Teror and will share the course with the Family race
The North Face Transgrancanaria is already preparing for its next edition with registrations opening on July 2nd at 12:00 PM, along with a special 48-hour flash sale offering reduced prices. The race organizers have revealed the main updates to the race routes and event program, which will repeat the format of past editions. Among the most notable changes are the return of the TGC Classic and TGC Advanced to Roque Nublo, the new starting location for the TGC Half in Santa Lucía de Tirajana, and the revamped TGC Short—formerly known as the Youth—now held in Teror with a 5-kilometer course.
The event will take place from March 4 to 8, 2026, featuring a total of eight race categories tailored to different skill levels. The event kicks off on Wednesday, March 4 with the El Gigante Vertical Kilometer from the Agaete Valley. On Thursday, March 5, the TGC Promo and TGC Half will take place, while the two most iconic races are set for Friday, March 6: the TGC Marathon in the morning starting from Tejeda, and the TGC Classic at midnight from Las Canteras Beach, alongside the Transgrancanaria Kids. Saturday, March 7 will highlight Teror with the TGC Advanced and the TGC Short, which shares its course with the Family race.
One of the major highlights for 2026 is the return of both the Classic and Advanced categories to Roque Nublo. The iconic rock formation was absent from the last edition while awaiting environmental regulations that would allow a respectful and orderly ascent. After months of work and collaboration with the Environmental Department of the Gran Canaria Island Council, participants in these two categories will now be allowed to pass through the area. Nonetheless, The North Face Transgrancanaria remains committed to respecting and raising awareness about environmental conservation in this symbolic site of the Canary Islands, where only participants and organization staff will be allowed access.
Registration for The North Face Transgrancanaria 2026 opens this Wednesday, July 2 at 12:00 PM on the official race website: www.transgrancanaria.net. Arista Eventos, the race organizer, will offer a flash period with reduced prices for those registering within the first 48 hours.
