The North Face Transgrancanaria 2026 presented its elite athlete lineup this Thursday—runners who have landed on the island with the ambition of being crowned at this major global event. The presentation took place at the Trail Zone in ExpoMeloneras by Lopesan, where the star-studded field met with media and fans before gearing up to chase victory in the Classic, Advanced, and Marathon races.
Stars including Jon Albon, Olivia Amber, Pau Capell, Henriette Albon, Johnny Luna Lima, Claudia Tremps, Tom Evans, Katarzyna Dombrowska, Abel Carretero, Yasmina Castro, Hannes Namberger, Gemma Arenas, Antonio Martínez, Maria Fuentes, Alain Santamaría, Ikram Rharsalla, and Marcos Ramos shared their thoughts before heading to the starting line. In addition to the athletes, the event was attended by Ramón Suárez Ojeda, Councilor for Sports of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, which hosts this world-class competition.
Many of these runners are widely expected to feature on the podiums of the three long-distance races starting this Friday, following the conclusion of the KV El Gigante on Wednesday and the Half and Promo races earlier this Thursday.

In fact, the elite presentation closed out another spectacular day of trail running in Gran Canaria. Hours before the event, the island’s summits served as the breathtaking backdrop for the 12km and 23km races. Additionally, the Trail Zone hosted the “Voices of World Trail Majors” event, featuring Fernando González, CEO of Arista Eventos, and Joao Faria, Director of MIUT Madeira.
The North Face Transgrancanaria is organized by Arista Eventos and is sponsored by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria (through Turismo de Gran Canaria and the Instituto Insular de Deportes), the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council (through the Municipal Sports Institute), and the City Councils of Teror and Tejeda. It is further supported by The North Face, Hospitales Universitarios San Roque, Lopesan Hotel Group, ExpoMeloneras, 226ERS, Fred. Olsen Express, Sonocom Audiovisuales, and Aguas de Teror.
