The Open Agáldar and Marathon have now surpassed 90% of their available entries

The The North Face Transgrancanaria 2027 has once again generated tremendous excitement among trail running enthusiasts. More than 4,000 runners from around the world completed their registrations during the first 48 hours after entries opened, coinciding with the Flash Registration Period featuring special prices. Demand has been so high that the Promo race has already sold out, while the Marathon and the new Open Agáldar, making its debut this year with a course through the municipality of Gáldar in northwestern Gran Canaria, are both close to reaching full capacity.
The event, which will celebrate its 28th edition from 22 to 28 February 2027, continues its commitment to promoting trail running across the Canary Islands by offering a special discount for Canary Islands residents. Thanks to this initiative, runners from all eight islands have already secured their places.

The international appeal of the event is once again evident in this first registration phase. During the opening 48 hours, participants from more than 60 nationalities confirmed their participation in one of the races that will take place across the trails of Gran Canaria during race week.
Most in-demand races
The Promo was the first race to reach full capacity. In less than 24 hours, the 12-kilometre route between Artenara and Tejeda sold out, with a waiting list being activated immediately.
Meanwhile, the Open Agáldar, one of the major new additions to this year’s programme, has received an outstanding response from runners. The 21-kilometre course between San José de Caideros and Gáldar has already exceeded 95% of its available entries, and registrations are expected to close within the next few days.

The Marathon has once again established itself as one of the most popular races in The North Face Transgrancanaria. In just two days, it has reached 94% of its available entries for its 47-kilometre course, starting in Tejeda and finishing at Parque Sur, Maspalomas. It is also expected to sell out very soon.
Registration remains open through www.transgrancanaria.net under the second reduced-price registration period, which will remain available until 15 September. After that date, the standard entry fees will apply until each race reaches full capacity.
