More than 20,000 people have visited the spectacular Trail Zone in ExpoMeloneras

The awards ceremony was the icing on the cake of the 26th edition of The North Face Transgrancanaria. A plethora of world trail running stars took the stage of the ExpoMeloneras auditorium to collect their well-deserved trophies after the great results harvested this 2025, where even several records have been broken.The event was attended by the Minister of Tourism of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Carlos Alamo, as well as representatives of several of the sponsors of the event as ExpoMeloneras; 226ERS; Fred. Olsen Express and Sonocom and the directors of other races of the international circuit Gran Canaria World Trail Majors.The North Face Transgrancanaria 2025 has been the edition of records with more than 5,300 participants of 70 nationalities who participated in the eight modalities of the race, in addition to the Transgrancanaria Kids Abora by Lopesan Hotels in Las Canteras Beach.

A team of more than 20 people made it possible for the Marathon and the Classic to be seen in every corner of the world. The 17-hour broadcast, in Spanish and English, was produced for the first time by Arista Eventos, as it did previously with the Artenara Trail and the 360º The Challenge Gran Canaria. The broadcasts of both races have more than 200,000 views on the official YouTube channel of The North Face Transgrancanaria in the first 48 hours.

Also, Radio Televisión Canaria deployed a special set to broadcast live the arrival of the first runners of the Classic, interviewing the main protagonists of the main event of The North Face Transgrancanaria.

The media impact of one of the best trail races in the world was reflected in the number of national and international journalists and photographers who came on site to cover the race. The organization accredited more than 70 people from countries such as the United States, Sweden, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Norway or China, who took the information instantly to all corners of the planet.

Second edition of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors and first edition of the Short Series
The North Face Transgrancanaria 2025 was again part of the international circuit Gran Canaria World Trail Majors for the second consecutive year. This edition also served for the Marathon race to debut in the Short Series by Gran Canaria World Trail Majors circuit. When collecting the medal of champion of the Classic, the North American Caleb Olson, already highlighted the prestige of this international circuit as the main reason to run for the first time the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors.furthermore, this year was again distributed the largest amount of money in the history of the event, since the three best runners of the Classic, Advanced, Marathon and Half have shared 36,000 euros in prizes.

Albon and Olson, dominators in the Classic
The Norwegian Henriette Albon and the North American Caleb Olson were the winners of the Classic, which did not disappoint with an unprecedented spectacle in the Gran Canarian orography. Albon reached the finish line in Parque Sur an hour ahead of the second classified, Claudia Tremps, while the Nike Trail athlete broke the absolute record of the race stopping the stopwatch in 12:17:25.The rest of the races that started on Wednesday 19 offered plenty of excitement in all corners of Gran Canaria. Judith Wyder and Henri Aymonod were the strongest in the Vertical Kilometer El Gigante; Judith Wyder herself and Antonio Martinez shone in the Half; Charlotte Delabarre and Ione Guerra dominated the Promo; Jennifer Lichter and Francesco Puppi won the Marathon and Ida Nilsson and Raul Butaci did the same in the Advanced.

Very special trophy
The designer Óliver Sánchez is responsible for the trophy that has been given to the winners of this edition. Entitled ‘Eco del Nublo 2.0’, the trophy has the silhouette of the emblematic monolith, and causes a special effect “that you see yourself reflected inside” thanks to the aluminum used to create this piece of such immense value for its owners.

Trail zone success with thousands of visitors
Parallel to the celebration of the competitions, between Tuesday and Friday, the Trail Zone runner’s fair was held, where some 20,000 people visited the stores and tourist information booths deployed in ExpoMeloneras.In addition, the finish line of Parque Sur had a family entertainment space where food-trucks sponsored by Gran Canaria Me Gusta were deployed and where a concert took place on Saturday night by the group Fijo Discontinuo thanks to the sponsorship of Pepsi. All this was part of the philosophy of the race, Kilometer 0, a firm commitment by the race organizer, Arista Eventos, to involve Canary Islands companies and to use and promote products from this land.

The CEO of Arista Eventos, Fernando González, took the opportunity at the end of the event to thank the support of institutions, sponsors and collaborators, as well as to value the enormous work done by volunteers and staff to have successfully completed a new edition of The North Face Transgrancanaria. “We are a small island in the Atlantic, but we are strong, we have the best team in the world to organize a race and we export quality and Canary Island products to the rest of the world”, said the executive.
