The leading European brand in headlamps for artificial lighting will continue to illuminate the race for the next two years.

In 2023, Petzl launched the new Swift RL, a powerful headlamp known for its versatility, a true chameleon in lighting.

Petzl, the largest European manufacturer of headlamps for professional and sports activities, will remain associated with The North Face Transgrancanaria until 2025. The brand, founded in 1970, joined the Transgrancanaria family in February of last year as a sponsor of the race, coinciding with the release of their NAO RL model featuring Reactive Lighting technology. This headlamp gained special prominence after the successful 2023 edition, as it was present on the entire women’s podium alongside Courtney Dauwalter, Jazmine Lowther, and Claudia Tremps. The agreement reached will allow Petzl to continue illuminating The North Face Transgrancanaria for the next two years.

Nil Corominas, Marketing Manager of Petzl Spain, states that the collaboration initiated in 2023 “was a complete success” and “showed that we share fundamental values such as a passion for the mountains and respect for nature.” “The renewal of this agreement for two more years is a testimony to the mutual trust and shared vision we have,” he adds. According to Corominas, The North Face Transgrancanaria “is a challenge that combines endurance, technical skill, and a passion for the mountains, making it an ideal stage to demonstrate the quality and performance of our products.” Nil Corominas also expresses gratitude to the organization for “the trust placed in Petzl” and eagerly anticipates the next two years of this “exciting collaboration.” “We are confident that together we will achieve new milestones,” he concludes.

Carlos Torrent, director of The North Face Transgrancanaria, expresses his gratitude to Petzl for “the trust placed in the event” and their willingness “to extend this significant agreement for two more years.” “The 2023 edition was a resounding success, and Petzl’s presence demonstrates that major sports brands choose our event to show their products to the world,” he says.

The partnership between Petzl and The North Face Transgrancanaria began in February 2023 with an edition that became the most successful to date, breaking audience records for this sport in Spain. The arrival of the largest European manufacturer of headlamps for professional and sports activities coincided with the market release of the NAO RL model, designed in collaboration with the French runner François D’Haene, offering 1,500 lumens of power in just 145 grams and a guaranteed minimum autonomy of 5 hours. The world’s top athletes debuted the product in the Gran Canaria race, and its success was evident with the presence of the headlamp on the entire women’s podium. In 2023, the company launched the new Swift RL, a powerful headlamp known for its versatility, a true lighting chameleon.
