More than 3,800 participants are confirmed in only two weeks
The number of registrations for The North Face Transgrancanaria continues at a really high pace. In just two weeks, more than 3,800 runners have registered for the eight modalities of this 26th edition, which will take place between February 19 and 23, 2025.
So far there are registered athletes of 64 different nationalities and more than 50% of the participants are from outside of the Canary Islands. The international demand is evident, with 212 runners from France, 164 from the United Kingdom or 109 from Belgium. Also notable is the Scandinavian presence with more than a hundred athletes from that region or the 70 registered runners from 14 South American countries. Athletes from countries such as Australia, Japan, the United States, Canada, China, Singapore and South Africa have also been encouraged to participate.
All races have a registration percentage above 85%, so it is expected that bibs for all eight modalities will be sold out in the next month. The 1,300 places for the Marathon were filled in the first 72 hours, but the waiting list for this race is still open to fill possible vacancies. The longer distance modalities also arouse passion among the most experienced runners, as in the case of the Classic, which counts for the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors international circuit, and the 82-kilometer Advanced, where they will enjoy a miniature continent traveling through the green fields and also the south side of the island of Gran Canaria.
The athletes also demonstrate their desire to participate in a fast and spectacular race like the Half, with 1,372 meters of positive elevation gain and one of the most beautiful climbs in the archipelago, Camino de La Plata. Speaking of spectacular courses, what can we say about the iconic departure from the Agaete Valley of the KV El Gigante with 1,130 meters of elevation gain in just 5.5 kilometers. Participation in the Promo also arouses excitement, the ideal race to get started in the world of trail running, or the modalities for all ages such as Youth and Family, both with a very high registration rate, and which this year move to the Villa Mariana of Teror.
Arista Eventos, the event’s organizing company, maintains an active price period with discounts applied until October 10. Likewise, residents of the Canary Islands will enjoy an additional discount on their registration to promote the Trail among the local population.
